About External Fixation

External fixation devices stabilize fractures and correct deformities from outside the body, anchoring to bone through percutaneous pins and wires connected to an external frame. This approach is widely used in high-energy trauma, open fractures, infected non-unions, limb lengthening, and temporary stabilization before definitive internal fixation.

Systems include unilateral and modular frames, circular ring fixators, clamps, connecting rods, and Schanz screws or tensioned wires. Frame components and pins are typically titanium alloy, aluminium, or surgical stainless steel to balance rigidity, radiolucency, and weight, and are made under ISO 13485 with CE marking.

Buyers evaluate fixators by frame stiffness, adjustability, imaging compatibility, and available connectors, matching the construct to fracture pattern.
